I almost had a wreck driving through the Plaza recently, when I spotted 7 people, wearing 7 helmets, driving 7 Segways in a row! The looks on their faces were priceless. I was amused and curious, to say the least. Come to find out, the hottest transportation on two-wheels hit the Country Club Plaza late summer. The new Segway Store, located just under the deck of McCormick and Schmidt (446 W. 47th Street,) is offering 90 minute "architectural tours" of our favorite outdoor shopping mall while driving this relatively new form of human transportation. It costs 50-bucks for individuals or $250 for a group of six. Both include a tour guide. Could be a fun escape for the office crew on a Friday afternoon! Or just a crazy adventure with your girlfriends! Call ahead before you go. 816-531-0600.
When you think of fashion faux pas does the man in your life spring to mind? Maybe his idea of dressing up is reaching into his closet to pull out that pair of topsiders and his 1980’s Members Only jacket he just can’t seem to give up. But getting him out to shop is an almost impossible feat. He would prefer a root canal, Chinese water torture or having your Mother come for a month long visit before going to the mall to do the dreaded “S” word…shop. Well, here is a solution to consider. Check out CLAD Menswear, a clever way to take the pain out of shopping for him. CLAD is a new type of shopping “experience.” They cater to the busy professional man by bringing the shopping to him!
