What's Happening!

Looking for the "inside scoop" on what's happening in and around Kansas City for women?

Seasonal

First Fridays
Fast becoming a Kansas City favorite, "First Fridays" are when the art galleries of the Crossroads District stay open from 7 to 9 p.m. the first Friday of every month. With free trolley service available, and ample parking, there's no better way to spend a night than enjoying drinks or dining at an area restaurant, followed by a stroll through the galleries and shops of KC's cultural heart.

Third Thursdays in Lee's Summit
Art, Gifts, Merriment! Come to downtown Lee's Summit this summer! Downtown merchants feature all kinds of artists (artwork, music, jewelry and pottery) in their stores from 6 to 9 pm. each Thursday evening. Stores provide complimentary refreshments. You provide a party-like atmosphere. You'll find a walking map with the featured artists at a booth at 3rd and Main. It's all in downtown Lee's Summit!

You will find many of the community wide events listed on the links posted above. Plus, we've listed below several upcoming events we think most women will be interested in.

If you know of an upcoming event that would be of interest to most women around the area, scroll down and click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of page. Just fill out the short form. We will consider your idea or event for this section.
(Okay girls, we're not talking about garage sales, bake sales, or in home party sales.)

Kansas City Literary Festival
The Kansas City Literary Festival is a celebration of books, reading and writers. It’s an event for all ages and all reading interests connecting national and local authors with people who love the allure and enchantment of a good book. This unique combination of literary activities, special interest venues (culinary, kids and poetry), authors and exhibitors is a platform to galvanize literary organizations in Kansas City to come together to encourage literature as a foundation for our lives.

The Literary Festival is a multi-venue event bringing fiction, non-fiction, culinary, drama, poetry, science, children’s literature (and other genres) all together in one event, and then explores how they exist in other art disciplines. It is intended to be a platform to give a greater voice to literary organizations in Kansas City and to enhance the profile of Kansas City as a collective literary landscape both regionally and nationally.
